Bomb Lager

Today's photo was submitted by Mike Raymond, founder of Bomb Beer Company. Bomb Lager is a traditional Bavarian Helles brewed with "some of the best malts around. No adjunct. No surprises. Just quality ingredients from quality suppliers." I first became aware of Bomb Lager at the Village Voice's Brooklyn Pour festival, but unfortunately I didn't get to actually give it a try.

In the photo you see their awesomely designed cans accompanied by a hand painted skatedeck that they had our their artist do for them. Also check out their Facebook page where they actually ended up giving the board away! Very cool. I hope to give them a try soon.

Sebago Slick Nick Winter Ale

Today's photo was submitted by @momsmaltbarley and features Sebago Brewing Company's Slick Nick Winter Ale. Unfortunately I've never had a beer from Sebago but they seem to have some pretty interesting stuff. I'll be spending all of next week in Southern New Hampshire, maybe I can find some there? I'm not entirely sure of their distribution. Anyone know?

Dogfish Head 60 and 120 Minute IPA

Today's photo was submitted by @Brian_Mcq and features the tap handle of Dogfish Head's 60 Minute IPA. Brian visited the brewery in Milton, Delaware this past weekend and the above was his favorite photo.

Brian also tweeted this side-by-side photo of 2008 120 Minute (left) and 2011 120 Minute (right) and thought the 2011 was better. I was surprised at the big difference in color. Very interesting. I have a bottle or two of 2008 120 at home, maybe it's time to open one up? Cheers and thanks for the photos Brian!

Sixpoint Righteous Ale

Anyone out there follow the NHL? Who's your team? Loyal reader Jared Walkowitz submitted this photo of himself enjoying a Sixpoint Righteous Ale while watching the New Jersey Devils on TV and wearing his Devils t-shirt. I happen to be a Devils fan as well, and with a recent hot streak and a big game against the New York Rangers tonight, I figured today would be a good day to post this submission. Unfortunately the last time I posted a sports-related beertography, it jinxed the team and they lost. Hopefully this doesn't continue the streak. Unless you hate the Devils, then you're rooting for my jinxing. Let's see some beertography of YOUR favorite team along with some good beer!

We've teamed up with Tapped Craft Beer Events and Whole Foods On Tap Columbus Circle for the next official Beertography Contest! If you've been following our Beertography of the Day series, then you already have an idea of what we're looking for. Founded by Emily & Matt Garland, Tapped Craft Beer Events is the first and only firm in New York City devoted primarily to craft beer tastings for corporate and private events. Which means they're just what your dull, ho-hum Holiday office party needs.

Our insanely generous sponsor, Whole Foods On Tap is located within the Whole Foods at Columbus Circle in Manhattan. Yes, it is a full bar with amazing eats WITHIN a Whole Foods. If you're from the area you have to go check it out. Thank you very much WF On Tap for donating the awesome prizes!

Alright, so how does this work? Well, let me tell you. Emily & Matt will select their top ten favorite entries, post them to their Facebook page and the public will decide the winner via the Like button. The photo that gets the most Likes on Facebook will receive the $100 Whole Foods gift card (and t-shirt & koozie) that they can use at any Whole Foods location in the U.S., including the new Whole Foods On Tap in-house bar at the NYC Columbus Circle location (which we highly recommend)!

Surly Wet

Today's photo was submitted by Heather aka @hopheadheath and features the wonderful and rare (if you're not from around Minnesota) beer Surly Wet. This beer is brewed with 4800 lbs. of hops picked fresh in Washington and used 3 days later in MN. As you can tell, Heather was clever in her use of backdrop for this beer. You gotta love fresh hop beers.

Heather is also a reporter for our friends over at newjerseycraftbeer.com. If you live in NJ (or visit frequently) head over and pick yourself up a Membership Card to get great discounts at bars all across NJ.

Hawthorn Premium Pale Ale

Today's photo was submitted by the guys over at Back of the Ferry. As you can probably tell from the photo, Back of the Ferry is a Sydney based beer blog. I'm fascinated by the craft beer revolutions going on in other parts of the globe, so their blog is a real interesting read. Plus they take some great photos. The beer in this photo is Hawthorn Premium Pale Ale out of Melbourne and it was voted into the Top Ten of Australian Craft Beer last year. BOTF says the beer is "It is as face-slappingly refreshing" and it "has wonderful citrus laced bitterness". Sounds good. Who wants to go to Australia with me?

You can also follow Back of the Ferry on twitter.

Barcade Crawl

This past Saturday, some friends and I decided to do something a little crazy. Go to all three Barcade locations (Philadelphia, Jersey City and Brooklyn) in one day. This all came about after I visited Barcade Philly for the first time a few weeks ago and realized it wouldn't be very hard to go to both the Philly and Jersey City locations in one afternoon. After describing my trip and my thought to one Chris O' Leary of Brew York, New York, the gears in his head were immediately turning. A few days later and Chris had already set up a Facebook Event and planned out a whole route entirely utilizing mass transit. Uh oh, we were really doing this.

Chris already has a great recap on his site, so I won't go into it here. But we made it to Jersey City just after 5:00 and Brooklyn at around 9:00. Not too bad really. Obviously Philly was the long haul, but still worth it as it's a great venue. Here are a few photos to add to the mix:

They have a smoker. This means already amazing food is actually smoked amazing food.

If you like this idea but don't feel like taking mass transit, you're in luck. This Saturday 12/10, Barcade and Sixpoint are joining forces for a Barcade Crawl by BUS! A $100 ticket gets you transportation round trip from Brooklyn to all 3 Barcades, 5 oz. pours of all 10 exclusive Sixpoint beers at each location AND food in Philly. That's a pretty great deal AND all proceeds are going to charity. Do it!

Sierra Nevada Porter

Today's photo was submitted by Matt Robinson and features Sierra Nevada's year-round Porter. Yes, I realize that this is two Sierra Nevadas in a row but today I've decided to feature this photo because of Matt's awesome mug. I'm not sure how many of you follow soccer, but Manchester United is my favorite team in the English Premier League and they just so happen to be playing in a Champions League matchup this afternoon. OH, and the Sierra Nevada Porter is real good too. Matt took this photo while watching this past weekend's game where Man U beat Aston Villa 1-0.

Troegs Mad Elf

Today's photo was submitted by Matthew Trogner who just so happens to be the Marketing Coordinator for Troegs Brewing Company. Who could possibly say no to almost 1 full gallon of Troegs Mad Elf, their holiday ale brewed with honey and cherries? No one, that's who.

If you would like to have your photos featured on the site, please email them to beertography@gmail.com. Or if you're on the go, you can tag your tweet with #beertography and/or mention me @beertography.

Lagunitas Sucks

Today's photo, submitted by Jon-Claude Dalimonte proves that Lagunitas Sucks. Huh? Oh it's the name of their new Holiday Ale! They didn't have the brewing capacity to release their usual Brown Shugga' so they decide to beat beer geeks to the punch and claim they suck. Fortunately for them, it's good! Here's what the brewery had to say about it:
It’s a mess that we can not brew our BrownShugga‘ this year and we suck for not doing it. There is nothing cool about screwing up this badly and we know it. Maybe we can sue our sorry selves. There is no joy in our hearts this holiday and the best we can hope for is a quick and merciful end. F*@& us. This totally blows. Whatever. We freaking munch moldy donkey butt and we just want it all to be over…..

Victory Prima Pils

Today's entry is in honor of Victory Beer Night at Barcade Jersey City tonight which I'll be attending (as will a certain co-founder named Bill Covalesky). This beertography comes from the awesome beer blog It's Just The Booze Dancing and features Victory Prima Pils. While I'm excited to have some great Victory beers on tap tonight, this only reminds me that it is a sin that I have yet to visit Victory in Downingtown, PA. This must be remedied sooner than later, as Victory makes some great beers.

Make sure you visit Booze Dancing and check out their excellent beertography and beer reviews.
